The Children’s Ministry at Providence Christian Church exists to teach children about the Bible, to help families grow together spiritually, and to develop relationships with other Christian children and adults.

It is our prayer that every child learns to know Christ personally through our Biblical teaching and loving Children’s team. Jesus said “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)

Our Children’s Ministry is much more that just childcare! We are dedicated to creating kid-targeted environments that children will love. No matter what their age, we want kids to go home excited about God’s Word and a relationship with Him. Children’s programming for kids ages 0 through grade 5 is available during our Sunday school hour as well as during our worship service.

We also offer a variety of activities and events for children outside the Sunday morning experience throughout the year. From Vacation Bible School in the summer to Upward Soccer in the fall, we want kids to have fun all year round and have a heart for Jesus forever.

Near Christmas each year, we begin our "Operation Barnyard" offering collection. The offerings collected by the children are saved up to buy a farm animal for a child or family in a Third World country.

Nursery

Our nursery works to provide a clean, safe, nurturing and loving environment during both the Bible Fellowship Hour and our Worship hour, so that parents may feel confident in the care of their children. Our dedicated staff provide much more than a babysitting service. Christian learning begins in the Toddler room during our Sunday school hour with a curriculum geared toward our youngest learners. We offer basic Bible truths, fun with music and age-appropriate activities.

Sunday School

Our Sunday school classes are a great place to build relationships, and to dig deeply into God’s Word. Teachers and students get a chance to discuss Biblical lessons in a round table atmosphere. Our classes are smaller because they are separated out into grades, which allow the lessons to be targeted specifically toward the children’s appropriate age levels. Check the church calendar to see the times children can come to Sunday School.

Son Safari

Join us in this wild adventure through the Bible! Our Preschool Ministry is offered for 3 year olds through 5 year olds (not yet in kindergarten) during our Worship hour. We engage them through exciting Bible lessons, hands-on learning stations, and prayer and worship time.

Kid City

Come right on in! Our Elementary Ministry is offered for Kindergarteners through 5^th grade. During the adult Worship hour, we have a great time learning through hands-on activities, live drama, upbeat music, meaningful crafts, and relevant games. Kid City includes a large group worship experience geared specifically to the needs of elementary children.

Upward Soccer - 2010

Upward Soccer is a sports program for kids that teaches the fundamentals of the sport while emphasizing sportsmanship and a winning attitude. Our league that lasts eight weeks in the fall. Our season begins on September 18, with a mandatory player evaluation. Practices begin the following week, and our first game is slated for Saturday September 25. Our end of season award night will be Sunday November 14th at 6:00 p.m. - with each child being celebrated and receiving an award! There will be entertainment, an opportunity to hear more about Jesus and His great love for us, as well as refreshments and fun for the whole family! Upward is an evangelistic sports ministry specifically designed for 4 year old through sixth grade boys and girls that promotes salvation, character, and self-esteem in every child.
